Social distancing
Like most (if not all of you) reading this, we are deep into social distancing around here. It’s March 24th and Bill and the kids are visiting his family in Kentucky while I visit with my family here in California. Bill and kids were supposed to return to CA tomorrow and we were scheduled to fly out back to the UK and then onto Switzerland. Since that is obviously not happening due to Covid-19, I have been filling my days with calls to hotels and airlines as I have at least a month of travel to cancel, if not all of the remaining travel (through mid-June). One day at the time. For now, tomorrow’s flight from Kentucky - San Francisco was just cancelled so I will work on rescheduling them on another open flight and then figuring out where we can stay once we are reunited. I have taken over the kid’s classroom at my parent’s house so I have maps and travel notes spread out all over. It’s quite nice up here; I see why Melina loves it so much.
I must say, even though these last two weeks did not work out the way we had planned, it has been great to spend so much time with my parents (and my cat). Lots of yoga, walks, hikes, and conversations without millions of interruptions. And eating, lots of eating—mom is cooking/baking non-stop!
