She's back!
Bill and I went for a walk early this morning. We headed to White Rock Beach and were enjoying the beauty of the island when we saw another couple who waved us over. Turns out, Myrtle was back. And stuck. While we debated what to do, none of us being turtle experts, and no one else around, it was decided I would hustle back to the rehab center and see if anyone was around, they would watch Myrtle. I found no one, headed back to the resort and found an employee who looked at me as though I was crazy. “A turtle yes, so what, we have turtles,” was basically his response. “But it’s Myrtle!!” I said.
I hustled back and was relieved to see that Bill and our new Aussie fellow turtle rescuers (also parents with a little one traveling for a year) had helped redirect Myrtle off of the rock and back into the water. Phew. Turtle rescue complete, we headed to breakfast. The kids missed the whole thing, sound asleep in the room.

Poor Myrtle, stuck.
