Festive Florence

Our days have been filled with sightseeing, wandering and enjoying the Christmas festivities in Florence. The weather has been beautiful. We’ve done two walking tours, a renaissance tour and a Medici tour, enjoyed the sunset from Piazzale Michelangelo, been to the Academia, numerous churches (including my favorite San Miniato al Monte), Christmas markets, Uffizi, and more. And, surprisingly we found my old apartment! At least I think we did. It has been over 20 years and I don’t always have the best memory so it took a few wanders on the streets but we found the neighborhood. It looks the same, at least from the outside although while I know we were close, I am not sure we had the exact apartment. They all look the same! In some ways the city has changed quite a bit since I lived here, in other ways it is exactly the same.
