Exploring Auckland, the city

First stop on our morning exploration, our immediate neighborhood and Prince Albert Park. I was a huge fan of Victoria on PBS—-if you haven’t seen it, definitely worth watching. I have the kids working on reports right now about Queen Victoria and Prince Albert : )

After our all vegan lunch (so good!) we headed over to Queen Victoria Park and explored. So far the things we’ve noticed about Auckland:

1. Feels a lot like downtown San Francisco except cleaner.

2. Very environmentally conscious - re-usable just about everything.

3. It is very noisy—-I think this is noticeable to us because we just came from a super quiet island!

4. People are very friendly and everyone dresses well. Again, this may stand out to us since we have all been cycling through the same suitcase of outfits for the last 6 weeks!

5. It’s expensive—not Japan expensive but definitely pricey.
